Buyers Can’t See How the AI in a Product Is Run. Now They Can Check for the AIQA Seal

AIQA Global launches the AIQA Certified Product Seal, an independent review of how a product’s AI is governed, with results anyone can look up.
CHICAGO, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AIQA Global, LLC, the first independent AI governance ratings firm, today launched the AIQA Certified Product Seal. The seal lets a company show buyers that an independent reviewer has checked how the AI in its product is managed. Buyers can confirm it for themselves in seconds.
AIQA Global reviews the AI in one product against the AI Governance Standard (AIGS), which sets out 55 specific governance controls in 15 areas. The review takes two weeks and uses documents, interviews and live demonstrations. Products that pass may carry the seal for one year, with a serial number that anyone can look up in the public AIQA Registry.
“Most people don’t inspect the wiring in an appliance before they buy it. They look for a seal from someone who did,” said James E. Malackowski, Co-Founder and Chairman of AIQA Global. “AI products need the same thing. Our seal tells buyers that an independent reviewer has checked how the product’s AI is governed, and every certification is listed publicly.”
Who benefits:
- Consumers. Before buying a smart device, an app or another AI-enabled product, they can look for the seal. It means an independent reviewer checked how the AI is managed, including privacy, human oversight and how problems are handled.
- Businesses that buy AI products. They can see how a vendor manages its AI, based on evidence the vendor had to provide.
- Companies that make AI products. They can show they manage AI well, and they learn where they stand on all 55 controls.
- Insurers, boards and investors. They can look up which products have been certified against the AIQA Governance standard, and when.
“Companies that manage their AI well should get credit for it,” said Maria Ross, Chief Operating Officer of AIQA Global. “The seal gives them a way to prove it and gives their customers a reason to choose them.”
The review covers how AI is governed across a product’s design, development and deployment, and applies to any AI-enabled product, including wearables, smart devices, software and consumer goods, whether AI runs inside it or helped build it. The result is pass or fail. Every control must be shown working in practice; a description alone earns nothing, and there is no partial seal. A product that falls short may be resubmitted within 30 days, and only the open items are reviewed again. Certified products can later earn a Silver or Gold medal on the seal by showing their controls are also monitored or have a tested response plan.
“AI changes too fast to add governance after the fact,” said Chase Malackowski, Co-Founder and Head of Product at AIQA Global. “It has to be part of how a product is built and used. That is what we review, and each seal is tied to the exact version a company ships.”
