Port Announces PortCon – the First AI Software Factory Summit
PR Newswire
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 5, 2026
Two-day San Francisco event will feature engineering leaders from Uber, GitHub, NVIDIA, SpaceX and more sharing strategies for building and scaling an AI Software Factory – from prototype to production
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Port, the open AI Software Factory platform, today announced The AI Software Factory Summit, taking place Nov. 17-18, 2026 at SHACK15 in San Francisco. The event features AI software factory use cases and insights from leading technology companies, including NVIDIA, GitHub, SpaceX, Uber and Expedia. Attendees will see how these teams run AI in production and learn what has worked, what hasn’t, and how to build and scale their own factories.
Gartner® Research(1) projects that “by 2028, at least 45% of large software engineering organizations will operate one or more AI software factories that automate substantial portions of end-to-end software delivery.”
“The AI Software Factory is the North Star for every engineering organization, but getting there brings its own chaos. Developers build in silos, standards differ from team to team, and agents work from context that is scattered and out of date,” said Zohar Einy, CEO and co-founder of Port. “Scaling takes shared context, clear ownership of every agent, policies that hold regardless of which model runs, and measurement of what the work returns. PortCon, the AI Software Factory Summit, brings together engineering teams running those systems in production to share what worked and what didn’t.”
The AI Software Factory Summit features engineering leaders that built and run their own AI software factories, including:
- Travis Gosselin, principal software engineer, GitHub
- Aaron Erickson, head of NemoClaw Engineering, NVIDIA
- Jan-Niklas Wortmann, solution architect, SpaceX
- Adam Huda, senior engineering manager, Uber
- Michael Watson, platform engineer and developer advocate, Expedia
- Darshit Pandya, senior principal engineer, Serko
- Mark DeBeer, lead software engineer, SPS Commerce
The program also includes keynotes from Kelsey Hightower, a former distinguished engineer at Google, and Mariane Bekker, director of developer relations at 1Password.
PortCon is designed for teams at every stage. Teams exploring AI software factories can learn how to build one, where to start, and what to avoid. Hands-on workshops cover plain-language Terraform pull requests, self-improving agent workflows, feature delivery for a software factory, MCP servers, and incident triage agents. Teams already running a factory can learn how to measure it and what success looks like through sessions on engineering intelligence, lessons from production, and a panel on practical AI software engineering.
