APPAM named the inaugural editorial team for its new Journal of Policy Implementation & Evaluation, ahead of its planned summer 2027 launch.
WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) has named the inaugural editorial team for its new Journal of Policy Implementation & Evaluation (JPIE), marking a major milestone toward the journal’s summer 2027 launch.
The team brings together six scholars from leading schools of public policy and public affairs:
• Seth Freedman and Coady Wing, Indiana University, O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs
• Tony LoSasso, University of Wisconsin, Madison, La Follette School of Public Affairs
• Katherine Michelmore, University of Michigan, Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy
• Travis St. Clair, New York University, Wagner School of Public Service
• Katie Vinopal, The Ohio State University, John Glenn College of Public Affairs
JPIE will publish short-form, peer-reviewed research that brings rigorous evidence to policy conversations when it is needed most. Focused on policy design, implementation, and evaluation, the journal will connect research to the decisions policymakers and practitioners face.
At the intersection of rigor and relevance, JPIE will offer timely, actionable insights into pressing public problems—without claiming to be the final word. Shorter articles, timely publication, and clear summaries of policy implications will make its research accessible and useful to APPAM members, the broader implementation and evaluation communities, policymakers, and practitioners.
“We are thrilled to welcome JPIE’s inaugural editorial team. Their collective expertise and commitment to rigorous, policy-relevant research will help nurture a journal that connects strong evidence with real-world policy challenges,” said APPAM President Kosali Simon. “JPIE creates a new opportunity to put evidence into the hands of those shaping and implementing policy, advancing APPAM’s commitment to research that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
Published online by Sage, JPIE will release quarterly issues under a hybrid publication model that includes both subscription-based and open-access articles.
